Huh, that’s interesting to hear. I have no intention of getting one, so everything I’ve heard until now, both online and in person, was that if you wanted one on launch day you were able to get one. Checking out the situation now though, and yeah, it’s indeed quite dire.
Really? I couldn’t get one pre-ordered at any store in town when it started online. Mind you I live where there are <250k people in the county. I figure I’ll give it a couple of months since Nintendo clearly produced way more this time around compared to the Switch and compared to like the PS5.
It was difficult, but not impossible to get one at launch. Prices on the secondhand market are also not as inflated as we saw with the PS5 launch or even the original Switch.
I managed to get one preordered and felt lucky in doing so but I think I would have managed to get one in person had I not gotten a preorder.

Yeah, no. It was just as bad this time as always.
I’m not waking up at 5am to be the first one into whatever store to get one either.
