Also how do they find the poop so quickly. My dog poops and in the 5 seconds I go to pick it up there’s like 7 flies on it.

Sounds logical.
Flies actually have a pretty sensitive sense of smell, at least for some things. Good vision, too.
With how bad my dog’s poop smells, I’m not surprised that any flies within a dozen or so feet are able to hone in on it so quickly.
