Article and rant detailing my extremely negative experience with business account opening and network gear order on Amazon, covering difficulty in getting customer support, difficulty setting up business account, difficulty reporting potential security issue, shipment of second-hand open-box devices instead of new items, Amazon's refusal to send replacements, problems with the process of used items collection and associated refund, barrage of auto-generated emails, zero customer care, my subsequent decision to shop local, other details, and more
Nothing as complicated as business accounts for me, but the failure rate on deliveries has increased for me over the last ~12 months. To where if I need a thing with some urgency, I am back to finding and buying it locally because Amazon next day shipping or whatever x timeframe shipping is not reliable.
Quick shipping with reliable ETA was my main reason for paying for Prime, so I’ll let it lapse at the end of the current subscription. I certainly wasn’t paying for access to Prime video.
I canceled my sub when they announced that paid Prime memberships would still have to view ads.
I use it exceedingly rarely now, thankfully, and without a sub you have to wait a week for something to arrive anyway, so I just expect it to be shit service.
This almost certainly depends on where you are, I can reliably get normal prime shipping or even same and next day for 99% of non-specialty items
Not that Amazon making service worse for some is acceptable, but that it’s not universal
But will it show up?
In the last 30 days we’re 50-50 that something will even arrive – at the local drop point, at the secure package receipt on the ground floor, at the local post office; 50-50 across the board.
I threw a RAID disk but prime said “4 days” so I bit. 2 weeks later it’s still in the wind but “out for delivery”. By then I bought one local, but got COVID on the way home from the shops. I’ve almost recovered.
This. I’d regularly get packages 3-5 days after ordering with prime. No reason to keep paying for a service I’m not getting.
Same here, most delivery service will not even bother performing the delivery about 30% of the time and just leave it in a relay or post office. Last time the logs showed they ensured I wasn’t home in the minute they left the dispatch center 🤡
I believe you can actually get a refund for the remaining time if you cancel it now.

So buy it locally then what are you even complaining about? Who gets something they urgently need delivered anyways. Boohoo one of your god knows how many basically free deliveries arrived a day or two late. It costs a burger king whopper meal for a month of free deliveries. Like Amazon should charge entitled ass customers like you more than that. Who even knows why it arrived late? Maybe your delivery driver got mauled by a pitbull and had to go to the hospital? Who gives a fuck though all that matters is your “urgently” needed delivery was late at no fault other than your own for buying something so urgently needed online.
It has been awhile since I’ve seen a troll account so aptly named.
Well I’ll be damned. That bridge collapse in Baltimore where all the shipping containers come in through really delayed my Amazon order didn’t it? God damn I hate Amazon!!! Why can’t they get my urgently needed orders to me in 1 day???
At least I’m not the idiot buying such urgently needed shit that I feel the need to complain about it on Lemmy when it gets delayed in transit. Shocked Pikachu face?? Delayed in transit? No shit that winter snow storm really delayed my order didn’t it?
I wonder how many late orders it takes until someone decides to buy their urgently needed crap at a normal store like a normal person.
Dude I think you need to get some meds for all that rage.
Maybe they have some on Amazon, I heard they have fantastic next day shipping as it’s such an urgently needed item!
Then I’ll complain about it on Lemmy when my urgently needed meds are delayed in shipping when I could have just walked to the CVS corporation and gotten my meds.

You’re just the guy complaining in great length about someone complaining about such an inconsequential thing. That’s way better!
Oh, weird. With all the Musk fanboys lately, I had entirely forgotten about Bezos boot lickers. Keep giving your money to corporations for their broken commitments, Daddy Bezos wants to launch another rocket and needs your charitable donations.
Look around, it’s corporations everywhere. The Internet you are using? Corporation. The device you connect to the Internet? Corporation. The place you buy your food? Corporation. The actual food itself? Mostly corporation. The toilet you shit on? Corporation. First it was delayed shipping your mad about. Now your mad about corporations. Can tell your like 15 years old. Don’t worry kid you’ll get it figured out soon.
You’re talking about “bezos and musk bootlickers” when you’re doing the same shit? You’re bootlicking your local businesses who buy all their inventory from some corporation? Wanna get away from corporations? Move to some remote town with a population or 5000 in some other country maybe in a communist country would suit you well.
Amazon says one day shipping and more and more frequently fails to meet that.
When my cable company sucks, I look for a competing service to switch to. Similarly, I’m shifting from Amazon because of their failure to meet their own commitments, hoping I find an alternate that is more reliable. I am not being inconsistent.
Go ahead and defend Amazon though. You do you.
I can do me looool. Amazon has done more for this society than your useless rage comments about Amazon ever can.
I’m going to let my subscription lapse when it runs out in ~6 months. Yes, that action just drips rage.
Press x to doubt.
You doubt… what? That the year-long Prime subscription lapses after a year? … that’s what it’s designed to do…
I’m impressed that the Smooth Brain Society is becoming so active on Lemmy. It took you all a while to figure out how to sign up for accounts but, boy, did you guys sure go nuts after you got there.
That’s why Amazon’s quarterly profits have more than tripled since last year. You guys are correct Amazon delivery service is sooo shit. Always delaying my orders making me want to shop elsewhere. It makes so much sense now why their quarterly profits have tripled.
