Germany: shuts down all their nuclear power plants.
Also Germany: why is power so expensive?

This is literally the first I’m hearing of this game.
The problem with making things you make free, is that people as a whole are terribly selfish and lazy. They will take anything free and claim them as their own. Individually, tons of people will respect the wishes of original creators, but it only takes 1 single person who doesn’t care who will ruin it. The problem is the Internet has billions of 1’s. You can ask please don’t copy my freely available thing all you want, but it’ll never happen. There will always be those that will repost as thier own. From ideas to assets, nothing is sacred when it comes to the masses.
Wow, TIL that we have a cricket team.
Maybe if the police actually took steps to prevent robbery, or do literally anything to recover stolen property, people wouldn’t feel the need to try and do it themselves.
Ask him if he would like to take a trip to Ireland to celebrate his graduation. I’m sure he won’t be starting work immediately, but if he already has a job it’s an easy excuse for at least a 2 week vacation. You could offer to show him around where you live and all the cool spots. Introduce him to your friends and do some of the things you all usually do for fun. Then you can take a trip to the touristy spots, which is conveniently a great excuse to get a room for night in the city, ya know, to make sure you have enough time to see everything and not worry about the travel time and such. Then for the end of the trip, just spend the time relaxing, and hanging out together. Give yourselves the time to get comfortable doing the day to day routine, give him a chance to experience what regular life in Ireland might be if he were to stay a bit longer.
Is that not just 2.4 trillion?
I mean, it’s true they have a lot of games that use predatory systems designed to trick you into spending more money than you need to. As well as games that are designed purely on capitalizing on base feeling of satisfaction of big number go up. But I feel like this is akin to suing casinos for their games having odds in their favor.
How much of it is on the company, and how much on the player? Like where is the line? If a game is designed to be solely addictive with no other value or purpose, probably should not be acceptable, but how do you make that determination as a games value is different for every individual.
Almost impossible to make a blanket judgement on this, and any legal precedent set by this lawsuit will be troublesome no matter which outcome.
TikTok just starts showing a lot of Bill Cosby shorts for some reason.
I have 2 year old twins… I get it.
I mean it’s wrong and I would never do that, but I get it.
Annie’s 12 years old, in 2 more she’ll be a whore.
Right?! It looks just a little off, like the thumbs, or something. Can’t pinpoint exactly what it is, but this picture is written ng somehow.
They’re both GIF, and they’re both pronounced correctly, because there is only one way to pronounce it, and there is no other way.
They actually didn’t come with memory cards. Sony back then was just as money hungry as they are now. You had to buy them separately. They were around $20 or $25 for a Sony branded one, but you could get 3rd party ones for cheaper.
I’m an American. I disagree. The people suck too.
Move to Mars? I doubt that’s likely. If we can’t unfuck our own mostly functional atmosphere, what makes you think we can fix Mars’s
I mean, nothing stops them that I know of. I also think it’s a little pointless
nothing mild about this. this is straight enraging. I hate youtube.
When you go to create an account on beehaw, they have a questionnaire you have to fill out with questions like “what do you plan to contribute to beehaw?” and then one of the 4 admins that run beehaw have to read your answers and then approve or reject.
I don’t blame them for being a small team running a forum and want to keep trolls and spam out, but it sounds like they are trying to have the best of 2 contradictory worlds. with the selective tight group of like minded individuals, but also have their communities reach a large audience and grow interaction. It just unfortunately doesn’t work that way.
But now these 4 admins stumbled into hosting the some of largest popular communities in the fediverse and are struggling to handle the bullcrap that comes with being popular on the internet.
No I’m not shilling. Germany literally just recently shut them all down, and now are complaining about rising energy costs sending them into a recession. A problematic move that was predicted by just about everybody, even most germans thought it was a bad idea.
And now we have this article. Pro nuclear or not, axing a huge chunk of your country’s power production in an age of exponentially growing power demands, is definitely not a good idea.
