wa wa wa
You are the one who presumed to know what I do or don’t actually want. Thank you for your attempt at kindness but it really didn’t come off like that to me. I think its best to end this interaction here as its not going to be productive for either of us. Sorry.
Edit: oh i thought you were the person who I was responding too but you are not… in that case please leave me alone, thankyou…
i wasn’t asking for advice and its not welcome
im trying very hard to quit smoking weed… i know it’s not the same as nicotine addiction but it’s still a struggle. I smoked weed almost every day for like 6 years or something.
its annoying cus like i will be reminded of it constantly, weed culture is everywhere, memes and shows and movies and books. I get reminded and i want it, I get the urge and its hard not to smoke a little. i will go days or weeks without any but then I will fuck up and smoke again and suddenly i will be smoking every day again for a few weeks.
edit: i wasn’t asking for advice, i have a therapist I am working with please stop trying to give me advice its not what I want or need and I don’t like it, it makes me super incredibly uncomfortable. Its not helping. Thank you
Can you elaborate on what “subpoenable information” means. Like I have a vague idea but im not super clear if thats like a legal term with special considerations or whatever. Elaboration would be helpful.
Not being able to talk about capitalism in a tech community is like having a fishing community and not being able to talk about how the waters got shit in it.
I could probably say the same about AI and crypto and mega yachts sure
But healthcare, housing, education, childcare, sustainable green energy, sustainable food production… All of them seem way more important than sending more junk into orbit.
Seriously how are space launches a priority right now when we are facing global ecological collapse
Yeah people don’t understand how bad the MH industry can be. Its why these things shouldn’t be gatekept, it should just be available under informed consent.
A thing that is really frustrating about a lot of health care providers is they insist on using outdated “best practice” blood levels for trans fem HRT which puts our estradiol levels significantly lower than cis women.
Im lucky that I have a dr in cali who is good and insists on me having proper estradiol levels but in the past they were significantly lower with other doctors. And I can absolutely tell the difference I feel so much better with my current levels and physically the effects are noticable as well.
I was talking to them recently about a job and their pay is kinda low for the industry too
They are connected but in practice there is definitely a big separation between lemmy and mastodon… you see mastodon posts on mastodon, lemmy posts on lemmy. yes its possible to view lemmy posts on mastodon but its fucking garbage integration, i have never seen a lemmy posts boosted on mastodon it just doesn’t happen… if I see a mastodon post here its in the form of a screen shot… the communities are effectively separate
Mastodon is pretty great for queer people. Better than lemmy I would say (and obviously better than the mainstream apps) …
Some of us have 2 boobs and 2 testicals :)
Don’t you have a box of donuts to eat or something?
I think the definition of consciousness needs to not be solely about abilities or attributes. It needs to account for the active process of consciousness. Like a hair dryer can burn things… but a fire is things burning. Without the active nature its simply not conscious.
Just FYI content warning for Pantheon there is a seriously disturbing gore/kill scene that is animated too well in the first season. Anyone who has seen the show knows what scene I am talking about, I found the scene pretty upsetting and I almost didn’t finish the show. I am still a little upset that the scene is burned in my memory.
As far as I understand, Anarchism doesn’t mean no rules, it means no rulers. No hierarchy of people.
The rules would be set up in such a way to actively discourage individual accumulation of power as much as possible. But a system like that could still have rules, just enforced collectively instead of power being parceled out to individuals. I think there are a lot of practical ways you can try to reduce power accumulation, like term limits is a very obvious example that is a concept we are familiar with. Or like ways of reducing wealth inequality can also be seen as a way of trying to reduce hierarchy.
I don’t know all the theory, I honestly feel like that kinda shit isn’t always the most useful anyways. But there are obvious things we can do now to reduce hierarchy and they seem like things that would be good. Having an ideological stance that hierarchy is bad, and we should reduce it as much as possible… that’s Anarchism.
Possibly they are trying to use the data generated by the workers to train an AI
Please leave me alone
