Mortgage payments cover insurance and taxes in addition to the mortgage itself. Unless you have a variable rate mortgage the portion of the payment going to the loan doesn’t change but the amount needed to cover taxes and insurance can.

20·28 days agoBrooklyn is in New York. Also, actual book bans are unconstitutional under the first amendment. What these laws do is prohibit state funded entities like public schools and public libraries in the state from having the books available. The books are still available in privately owned places.

He can’t be Harris’s VP. Two people from the same state can run on the same ticket but electors for the electorial college can’t vote for two people from the same state as the elector. That means that no elector from California could vote for a Harris/Newsom ticket. Democrats cannot win in the electorial college without California.
7·2 months agoI doubt he’ll do anything much different before the election. Harris is going to try to run, at least in part, on the current administration’s record so Biden actions will be constrained by the fear of hurting her campaign.
4·2 months agoElaine Kagen. She can step down from SCOTUS and let Biden nominate her replacement. She has good national name recognition and lots of public writing on every important topic. She would trounce Trump in a debate. It’s basically impossible to challenge her qualifications. She is a little older at 64 but much younger than Trump or Biden. She’s actually a little short of the normal retirement age. I actually prefer Sotomayor and thought of this for her but she’s a little older than Kagen.
Harris is very unpopular with a large portion of the democratic base because of her very close ties with law enforcement and resistance to criminal justice reform while Attorney General of California.
22·3 months agoI’ve seen Highlander, you can conceal a full size katana in the inside breast pocket of a trench coat. You can even go for a run with it there and the coat will flap and move like the sword isn’t even there.

Mosquitoes are the only thing that kills more humans than other humans. In fact, if you look at the top 10 animals that kill humans and add up 2-9s per year totals they’re a bit less than mosquitoes. Also the list is very bug and parasite heavy.

In the article it says that immunocompromised people spoke during the public comments on the bill and Republican senators said that the bill would criminalize their wearing masks but they just won’t be prosecuted for it.
Sounds like it would conflict with the ADA.
The Vice President doesn’t certify the vote count, the Senate does. The VP usually presides over the counting because the VP is the head of the Senate but if the office of the VP is vacant or the VP chooses not to preside over the vote count then the president pro tempore or the Senate leader elected under SR1 is the presiding officer.
