More Tor friendly instances would be nice. Most Lemmy instances use things like Cloudflare that freak out over Tor connections so just registering/logging into the instance is a PITA, let alone browsing. Extra bonus if the instance actually hosts the Lemmy instance in Tor itself (though realistically the rest of the Lemmy instance would still run on the clearnet since it still needs to communicate with the rest of the Fediverse).
Probably just need an executive order from the current U.S. president to rename the country “United States of Trump”. Going forward citizens would be called Trumpians.

Does your employer offer you a match on your 401k contributions? That’s free money regardless of how the 401k is invested so you definitely want to keep that going.
Even without that generally speaking you’ll still want to continue contributing to your 401k. Remember that a 401k is long term retirement savings, the market will continue to rise/fall during your employment over the next x years. You’re not required to invest 100% in U.S. specific index funds, in fact most people would recommend allocating a mix of U.S. / International / Bonds e.g. the “lazy” portfolio is one of the more famous recommendations https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Asset_allocation
Or for just set-and-forget you can invest in target date retirement index funds if your 401k offers them (most 401k plans offer those nowadays).
In NYC people never thought he was cool, he was just another rich blowhard in the NYC area. He has spent pretty much his whole life desiring some sort of celebrity coolness he never really attained.
I don’t know about people outside the NYC area, maybe they always thought he was some sort of cool real estate rich guy? Do people down south idolize that type of person? Seems unlikely then again stranger things have happened.
Usually what I do is put the plate in the oven towards the end of whenever I need to take food out so it heats up a couple of mins or so then take everything out. Use oven mitts in case you left the plate in there a bit too long.
I believe you meant that you have an internet speed of 81 MegaBytes vs 81 Megabits.
OP is confused but I’m pretty sure they are right about that part. Most (all?) ISPs advertise service in Megabit / Gigabit speeds. Definitely here in the U.S. not sure if other countries do that differently.
Also most speedtest sites measure in Megabit / Gigabit. e.g. https://www.speedtest.net/ is a popular one and by default it measures bandwidth speeds in Megabit / Gigabit.
When I download something using torrent though, the speed is shown as 10 MB/s
You forgot the i, qBittorrent displays speeds in MiB/s not MB/s.
Mb/s = Megabit per second
MB/s = Megabyte per second
MiB/s = Mebibyte per second
Anyway 10 MiB/s is ~ 83 Mb/s so you’re fine, seems you are already hitting your max speed.
Zip bombs wouldn’t apply here, from what I understand to create those you’d have to start with uncompressed data. The typical example is using a bunch of zeroes as the starting point, not only is that compressible but the compression algorithm will look for redundancies in the data to increase the compression efficiency (a bunch of zeroes would have tons of redundancy).

You haven’t gained anything by doing so since video is already compressed. Compressing data that is already compressed will usually make it slightly larger - or if you’re lucky maybe you’ll save like 1 megabyte space, not really anything worth the trouble.

ISO is not compression.
To view blocked instances if you’re browsing Lemmy on the desktop website go to https://lemmy.world/instances and click the “Blocked Instances” tab.
Unfortunately there no standard way to view blocked communities, I’m not sure if lemmy.world admins maintain a list somewhere.
I’ll add that the blocked stuff is good/bad depending on your point of view. e.g. some instances (including lemmy.world) participate in Fediseer which helps determine spammy intances to potentially block and keep spam out. That sort of blocking is okay, the other types of blocking I’m not too onboard with but that’s just IMO.
PS - If you’re just starting out probably best not to overthink it too much :) As you get more comfortable browsing the Fediverse you can decide later on if you want to set yourself up on another instance.
Sometimes the instance you are on will block communities or other instances that you may still want to be able to view/browse… in those cases your only solution is to create a new Lemmy account at a different instance that does not block those things.
For example you’re on lemmy.world so all your blocked instances are listed at https://lemmy.world/instances
In addition lemmy.world admins also block entire communities e.g. blocking all piracy related communities is a big one there https://lemmy.world/post/13320356

If you weren’t already prepared (see other comments) then assume every credit/debit card you had saved in your Google Wallet/Apple Pay has been stolen - That’s one reason people snatch phones while unlocked and try to keep it unlocked.
Also assume any payment apps you have installed are now compromised e.g. Venmo and similar - that’s another reason people steal unlocked phones and try to keep it unlocked.
The above assumes you did not have any additional passwords/locking in the apps themselves beyond the phone’s screen unlock - I purposely
You may be able to remote lock the phone after the fact if you get to a computer or a someone you know with a phone on them to get online and initiate a remote lock.
If you’re self hosting services on your own network it’s often easier to use a domain rather than have to keep up with home IP address changes. Same if you need to set up some sort of remote access into your network.
Also useful for email, you’ll have infinite amount of email addresses you can use on your own domain. Plus if you ever need to migrate to another email provider you simply point your domain to your new email provider, you never lose your email address this way.
There is also social media that you can use your own domain to show you own your account. e.g. seems to be common at Bluesky.
It’s not, the devs themselves took it off Steam (and honestly I would have thought Valve might have removed it eventually). But it’s not like the devs disappeared from the internet, searching around I saw they still sell the game on at least one game platform outside of Steam. And those same devs could choose to sell it directly themselves if they wanted, to say they’ve been scrubbed from the internet is a bit of a stretch.
