There are a few single episodes I do like, though. S2 starts off stronger compared to S1 (which is not that difficult) and starting with S3, TNG really takes off. Enjoy the ride!
Of course one can start with LD, but as I said before, it only worked for me because of all the references since the characters, the story and the style of comedy just don’t do it for me personally.

However, I would advise against starting with Lower Decks. Maybe it’s just not my cup of tea in general and the only reason I did enjoy LD quite a lot is due to tightly knitted references (i.e. Giant Spock’s skeleton, prank calling Armus, and so on). It’s basically like how someone here recommended TNG before DS9 because it sets the stage. It’s also why I’d recommend skipping SNW’s S2E7 (Those old scientists) until you are familiar with LD in general.
May I ask about your favourites of TNG S2? There are some strong standalone episodes. :)

I somehow forgot about “Data’s Day”. I don’t know how that one slipped past me, but it’s truly great for beginners of Star Trek. I appreciate it!

Watching the adventures of people from a post-capitalist world when we have to live in a capitalistic hellhole?English1·6 months agoWell, a little, but it also makes me realise I should only surround myself with decent people and cut contact with anyone awful.
TotallyNotSpez@startrek.websiteto Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•Where to start?English11·7 months agoI’d say VOY, ENT, TNG, DS9 & SNW, but keep in mind I’m a bit anti mainstream in terms of Trek recommendations.
Ah, thanks. Wasn’t wearing my glasses. :)

What was your first contact?English4·9 months agoWatching TOS reruns and the movies with my dad on Sunday afternoons when I was a child. Soon afterwards followed by TNG with my older brother. Then VOY was released when I was about 9 years old and that got me hooked for good. For some odd reason, I completely missed out on DS9 until much later in life - I started watching it in my early 20s. Once I watched that, I did a full rewatch of every show of the franchise, including TAS and I still don’t know what to think of it. :D Long story short, Star Trek made me a much better person and had a huge impact on me very early in life.

Make sure to watch Rogue One between E 3 & 4.
