In elemental school we had to write instructions on how to make a pb&j sandwich. The teacher then acted out your instructions literally, without adding or removing a step. I don’t think there was a single sandwich made that day.

Weird, cus it literally happened a few months ago:
https://www.neowin.net/news/crowdstrike-broke-debian-and-rocky-linux-months-ago-but-no-one-noticed/
This was in no way a Windows problem, this was entirely a CrowdStrike problem. Claiming otherwise makes you look like an uninformed moron.
Canceling an entire tour, that people already bought tickets and travel for, over a small gaff made off the cuff by someone who has been his friend longer than a large amount of Lemmy has been alive, is fucking cowardice. And this is 100% a PR firms opinion and we will never know whatever JBs true feelings are because, again, hes a coward and will never speak out about it for fears it might upset his money train.
70dba is about what a vacuum cleaner puts out. I doubt anyone is actually bothered by the noise level considering it’s an outdoor sport unless their home literally shares a wall with the court.
To be mildly fair to Spotify Car Thing lasted for at least 3yrs. The worst part was, imo, it was really good. Like sure, my phone does voice commands but they work like 1/5 times. Car Thing worked nearly 100%, responded to anyone in the cars voice (pro/con depending on situation lol), and was a nice display for my preAndroidAuto headunit. Honestly I think the biggest mistake was that it was tied to a car, I used it on my desk for a while as a dedicated music control surface and it worked well. If more time went into making it just a universal Spotify controller it would have been much better as a thing. Have it mounted next to your receiver, or slap a battery in it and put it on a coffee table during a party and that would have been cool AF and requires zero phone interactions.
Roblox runs great on Linux, they just explicitly blocked it right?
Samsung has even cut most of the horseshit out. My S22 had like a few Samsung apps, they live in a folder and I never see them. But that is similar to all of the Apple apps you couldn’t remove either (don’t know if that’s changed, haven’t had an iPhone since the 4)
Yea, like that would ever in literally any possible incarnation of any possible existence where Apple is a thing happen. Totally.
Iirc he said he planned to ban imported electric cars, so Musk is free to gobble that tiny orange mushroom shaped dick. Need to go do a heroic dose of mushrooms and delete those neural connections now.
Everyone else has the serious threads of conversation handled, I’m just here to ask if it was entirely necessary to say “quarter-center ago” about something that to a lot of people wasn’t THAT long ago. I was in highschool. Going to go oil my creaky joints now.
Love my scrap metal with a nice healthy layer of hydrazine.
I used to haul my four wheeler around in the back of my mom’s town and country in high school. It was crazy easy to load and unload since the rear deck was so low. Just pulled the seats out, put a tarp down, setup the ramps and pushed it in since it was such a shallow angle. Worked great, did it a couple dozen times.
Minivans are more useful utility vehicles than most modern trucks and I’ll die on this hill. The bed height on modern trucks alone is kind bogglingly idiotic.
I’d love something between an Astrovan and a traditional minivan.
Repeal CAFE standards, or just delete the entire catagory of “light truck”. If it doesn’t have a bed, its not a fucking truck. This entire fucked situation is literally just automakers not wanting to be bothered to make fuel efficient cars when you can call everything a fucking truck and be mostly exempt from having to comply with the far stricter regulations around smaller passenger vehicles MPG standards.
And the automakers give zero shits since they make so much more selling these larger utterly pointless vehicles rather than smaller, more economical ones.
QNAP at least used to make pretty powerful NASs. I had one with an older Xeon in it that I bought in like 2015 that at the time crushed Plex streaming. Not sure if they still do, I also moved to Unraid and will never look back, it’s exactly what I need and none of what I don’t (literally, raid. Don’t care about IOPs).
Actually ran Unraid on the Xeon QNAP for a year or so before building my own box.
The children yearn for the mines…
Either way they lie and recruit the same. I’d much rather just punch the Nazis and anyone who sides with them.
Yepp exact same as Unraid, I have 3x 18tbs one of which is Parity, and a couple old 4gbs I need to drop but am too lazy to do so 😅. Can add whatever size but the parity drive has to be at least the same size as the largest drive in the pool.
When adding/removing disks you do have to rebuild parity, but it’s not the end of the world and it handles it automatically. I run parity checks pretty often anyway (every other week) and it takes the same amount of time.
I just like the Unraid UI and Docker implementation tbh. I used to run everything off Portainer/Compose on my QNAP which was great, but these days I am lazy and having an Update All button is 🤌
Hadn’t heard of it, seems like it’s similar to Unraid, but parity has to be manually syncd whereas UnRAID syncs constantly?
MH4U (on 3DS) is what got me hooked! Still maybe my favorite, it just had an obnoxious amount of content. Still have my CirclePadPro around somewhere…
