It’s astonishing how much aoe dmg stupidity does.
And yet, it’s still a surprise. 🤦♀️

Maybe not space, but water.
From 2003-2005, the average water use for golf course irrigation in the U.S. was estimated to be 2,312,701 acrefeet per year. That equates to approximately 2.08 billion gallons of water per day for golf course irrigation in the U.S.

Thanks for posting this! Just what I was looking for more that YouTube music pricing is going up for me and so is Spotify.
Yup, even despite spaz’s best efforts to ruin it.
I really enjoy that aspect about Lemmy. Interactions more organic and genuine and I hope it continues to be that way. I was merely making an example of why Reddit won’t completely die off.
If we were having this conversation there, this comment chain would likely be filled with meme responses. “Get a room, you two”, “Now kith”, etc.
Thanks for the friendly banter. :)
Exactly. Reddit was known as the front page of the internet and a lot of people who use it casually may not know the details (or care) about what’s going down. They’ll still visit the site for certain things, but just like fb, it’ll be filled with a lot of trash.
Even now, there are lots of people still using the site, which is why there are Lemmy bots grabbing and reposting to certain communities. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see it crash and burn, but could you see celebrities doing AMAs on Lemmy when they could barely understand Reddit?
Eh, I think it’ll still be around just like Digg is. The quality will definitely never be the same though. I have a feeling it will turn into what Facebook is right now.
There aren’t hundreds and there aren’t a lot of subs to find the exist elsewhere since it’s still developing and the fediverse boom/exodus of Reddit. There are what lots of communities for specific pics, such as cats, nature, etc.
You can’t really have it be decentralized and expect all to be in one place. :P
Ooh, I see what you’re talking about. There is no centralized “pics” page. Each instance has they’re own rules and communities/magazines. You can subscribe to them, that way you can view and crosspost if you’d like. Just sub the main ones to your instance (Lemmy, kbin, beehaw, shitjustworks), then browse all and sub to others that pop up selling along the way.
Think of it like a huge house (your instance). You can go into each room (community/magazine) and view things easily. But your house can’t view info from other houses until you tell them you want to come over. Once you’re in (subscribed), you can view their stuff from your house too.
Just repost it here. I’m getting tired of seeing the word ‘reddit’ on here, and those of us that came over will know it’s a repost because we’ve seen it before. Just don’t claim it’s OC if it’s not.
I’ve been posting some recipes that I had saved from over there and I just post an archive link to the original page.
