I don’t understand these companies’ obsession with humanoid robots. A robot doesn’t have to humanoid to be a useful household helper. It doesn’t even have to be humanoid for people to form a friendly bond with it (something I think would be a good quality in a “household helper”) just look at Star Wars droids

I watched someone on twitch playing this and there was a point the character was playing a phone game and it was so frustratingly accurate the way it portrayed the “watch ads to get gems, but the ad is a fake game that you try to close but you click the wrong X and it leads to a broken link” experience perfectly

I absolutely love dark mode and find light mode headache inducing but will never understand the elitist attitude beyond a quick joke. Accessibility is good in all forms!

You’re right that we shouldn’t care, but how do we help those who have been disenfranchised if we don’t identify them? Advocacy isn’t about caring about appearance over character, it’s is about shining a light on systematically disenfranchised groups of people so that we can support them.

I think you are conflating where the “importance” has come from. A person can recognize that skin color does not matter. They can also recognize that the system they live in places a huge importance on skin color through endemic systems that have been in place for decades. How do you counteract an unbalanced system? By sticking your fingers in your ears and going “it doesn’t matter” or by seeking out those who are trying to make a change?

Unfortunately, for some folks it’s never enough. Why only black folks? Why not disabled folks? Why not indigenous folks? Etc. But you have to start somewhere - and many people aren’t even trying. My point is that projects like this are a start. They’re not going to solve every issue but they’re trying to make a difference and I think that’s neat.

None of those reasons sound especially practical to me, but I may be in the minority. I’d rather wait and see that the game is stable and if I really want the extra content I’ll get it later (I’m patient).

Interesting. I can’t see any practical reason TO preorder. Are they going to run out of digital copies? Am I going to forget to buy it? I’d rather wait for reviews and a couple patches.

What exactly are you trying to show us here?

I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum, as the review scores keep improving so obviously folks are liking it, but you’re not alone if it still doesn’t click. They keep polishing it and piling on more stuff, but the base game is still rather disjointed and in my opinion, easy to burn out on. Procedural generation doesn’t mean any of the procedurally generated things are going to be interesting.
