Lawyer here: this isn’t necessarily correct and in America it’s state dependent. There are absolutely parts of the law you can waive, including negligence of a party which is likely your bungee jumping scenario with the rope snapping.

If this is in America file complaints with the federal department of labor and your state equivalent. They take this kind of thing seriously.
That’s part of the problem; but, increasing tax rates (income, capital gains, depreciation recapture, 1031 exchanges etc) is needed even more than enforcement of existing. You’d be surprised how much of what the rich do to reduce their tax burden is perfectly legal and IRS enforcement would just be an annoyance.
Tax all billionaires more?
I adored Cyberpunk. Played in Q1 2022. The bugs were mostly worked out and it was a delightful experience.
BOTW. I just don’t get it. It’s not really that I can’t stand it; rather, it’s just that it didn’t feel like a Zelda game to me. Yes, it’s gorgeous; yes, I had some decent fun at the beginning. But in the end, I moved on. First zelda game where I didn’t want to finish it and it felt like a chore playing. Like, get out of here, I don’t want to micromanage how many attacks with a sword I can make. That’s so annoying.
You just taught me a new word! (Squick)
The bashing-women-in-tech part. Sure, they intended it as parody; but, considering the condescension towards women that was already running rampant on Slashdot, it was in poor taste.
I seem to remember how short sighted that was.
So how will they comply with court orders requiring that function? /smh
And FTL. Amazing games. Slay the Spire also great.
There was another change in control of it in the early oughts I thought. Maybe not ownership but whomever was running the site changed.
Slashdot in its heyday was great. Then that sale happened. Somehow I ended up skipping Fark and Digg.
I just don’t understand some of these decisions…
Well, I don’t think it will STB, but YouTube needs a FOSS equivalent that has the same capabilities sans ads. But, that’s $$$$ infrastructure so I don’t know if that will ever come.
BUT, I really hope that by the time Discord pisses off its users, that matrix or another federated equivalent will have figured out the UI/UX to capture a large chunk of those users. I used to live in IRC, but discord finally killed it. And I hate using proprietary software for so much chat.
I was like Star Wars ripped off Dune! Oh wait…
