You’re saying that the hypersexualization of society is a great thing that should happen to every nation?
You’re saying that the hypersexualization of society is a great thing that should happen to every nation?
Both incidents aren’t equal, what I’m saying is that they were both caused by people who think it’s cool to break the rules and has no respect for the place they’re visiting. Protest about any issue you want, just not this way.
I’m not sure what not valid about criticizing the general attitude of giving unsolicited opinion through a screen while lacking the experience and cultural background to make such comments. I think that everyone can agree that it’s disrespectful to go to some place and start telling people there how things should be run, no matter how right you are
I’m not advocating the imprisonment of any people. I was saying how sexual attitudes and values in Asian countries contribute to the criminalization of homosexuality
Fuck YOUR whataboutism. Where in my comment did I defend the homophobic law? The issue is definitely with foreigners having zero manners. Anyone who goes another country and knowingly break the law just because they think they’re right (even if they are) is called ignorant.
You’d think after doing the same thing in 2019 in UAE they’d tell their tour managers they don’t want to be booked into a homophobic country again? It wasn’t a “mistake”, it was all a fucking stunt. Maybe don’t do the same mistake again by doing the Indonesia tomorrow, which has similar homophobic laws
I think it’d make more sense when you realize most Asian countries are more sexually conservative. The average age to lose virginity is early to mid 20s as opposed to teenagers in Western countries. In countries like Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia, you can’t even legally have sex before marriage.
As an Asian, I think a lot of news don’t get much coverage as they should. We’ve seen an increase in foreigners visiting just try to do the most vulgar stuff they can think of.
In my country alone, we’ve had dozens of tourists trying to do absurd stuffs like taking nude pictures in sacred temples or pissing into the pool of these temples. It’s gotten so bad that we had to create a task force to specifically handle these kinds of misconduct.
How exactly is this going help LGBT community in Malaysia? If anything, he’ll benefit more from the publicity than the actual LGBT community. I think most people can tell that majority of African and Asian countries have anti-LGBT law without needing “international attention”
I find it weird how some people feel morally superior that they have to homogenize people and impose their views on everyone. This obsession of politicizing everything is disturbing.
I feel sorry that you’ve been raised in an environment where you weren’t taught basic manners when voicing your opinion.
I said nothing about imprisoning people, I was saying how some foreigners have zero respect for the place they’re visiting simply because they feel morally superior.
