Not directly, but it’s balanced by the traffic that talking about it generates?

Musk has been known to say… controversial statements from time to time for this reason.

Making sure that X remains relevant, living rent-free in all of our heads, is a huge benefit, compared to moving on and never looking back.

Edit: though to be clear, I didn’t say it was a good plan - most of his plans do not qualify for that word imho:-P.

I wonder when I’ll finally have to stop reading parenthetical describing that mentioning “X” is referring to Twitter.

Oh my god! That’s disgusting! Naked pics online? Where? Where were they posted? I want to avoid seeing them at all costs!

Sorry for Taylor. She doesn’t deserve that. Nobody does frankly. However, I’m sort of glad it is Taylor because if anyone has the money to sue the perpetrators and X into the ground it’s her.

elon should be ecstatic that there is no viable scaled alternative to his site because I am sure pissing off probably one of if not the most powerful woman on the planet and her legions of fans is not good for business.

and because there’s no alternative he’s not incentivised to do anything about it so the problem will persist.

In some parallel universe these events trigger the pop idols fury. Birthed from the canals of the very ai vaginas meant to besmirch Miss Swift, the new social platform, Taytter, arises. As a place for Swifties to speak to their spuds, the new social media juggernaut rises to power, providing an oasis of reasonably moderated media, while X rusts away in the social media wasteland it’s platform helped perpetuate.

You kid, but if Taylor swift just talked about a new Twitter alternative, especially any time soon, Twitter would be kaput.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

One of the most prominent examples on X attracted more than 45 million views, 24,000 reposts, and hundreds of thousands of likes and bookmarks before the verified user who shared the images had their account suspended for violating platform policy.

In some regions, the term “Taylor Swift AI” became featured as a trending topic, promoting the images to wider audiences.

X’s policies regarding synthetic and manipulated media and nonconsensual nudity both explicitly ban this kind of content from being hosted on the platform.

In response, fans have responded by flooding hashtags used to circulate the images with messages that instead promote real clips of Swift performing to hide the explicit fakes.

The responsibility of preventing fake images from spreading often falls to social platforms — something that can be difficult to do under the best of circumstances and even harder for a company like X that has hollowed out its moderation capabilities.

The company is currently being investigated by the EU regarding claims that it’s being used to “disseminate illegal content and disinformation” and is reportedly being questioned regarding its crisis protocols after misinformation about the Israel-Hamas war was found being promoted across the platform.

The original article contains 420 words, the summary contains 194 words. Saved 54%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Anything that happens online, with machines, near machines, that were done with a phone in someone’s pocket or within 100 yards of a phone, anywhere under telephone wires, anything that’s happened since the advent of the printing press…

I still do not see what the difference is between AI generated porn and photoshopping one person’s face onto a different person’s naked body.
