From the stupidest-thing-I-can-think-of desk…
Windows App Series X Ultimate Pro for Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2
That’s a terrible name for a remote desktop application.
Is this one of those “yo, you like Windows, so we put some Windows in your Windows” joke that I’m too Linux to understand?
I mean, Windows has had windows since day one.
I asked Microsoft Copilot for names.
- Windows Anywhere
- WinConnect
- Windows Hub
- WinAccess
- Windows Portal
- WinLink
- Windows Bridge
- WinRemote
- Windows Gateway
- WinFlex
I’m sorry, I don’t like any of these names
They don’t blow me away either, but I’d still rate them above what Microsoft’s actually using.
- Crash Bandicoot Apps
- Titanic Apps
This is a huge hit to desktop ownership of the OS. Microsoft has officially made zero-trust a reality by doing this.
I expect there will be even more news at Ignite. Bear in mind 11 has been requiring a MS account for years and 10 is in it’s final months. Pushing users to cloud only Windows allows them (and their corporate customers) complete control of the ecosystem.
How does this have an effect in anything? It’s just a remote desktop application
Hope they release it for the Xbox 1
